As I'll can never justify spending best part of possible £1000 on a bezel-less smartphone when the iPhone X launches this month, but would love to have a phone with a near bezel-less design i decided to get myself something abit cheaper.... well alot cheaper actually.

Behold my iPhone X :p:p:p

Now I love my little iPhone SE so that won't be going anywhere it's still my main go to phone & I'm hoping Apple release a SE 2 next year, but the price I got a UK G6 for well under £500 & a free smartwatch chucked in aswell it was a abit of a bargain & is actually a very good phone.

So now i have my near Bezel-less fix without having to remortgage the house. :)

But isnt 500 a bit of a waste if you are not going to use it as your main?
Its half way to the iphone you would have used all the time ;)

You can't justify spending £1000 on what will surely be the best iPhone ever released, but you can justify spending £500 on a secondary phone because you want less bezels? Makes sense.

I'm using it now, my SE I use for work which i spend more time than i do at home & the odd nights out hence my go to phone because of the size it's alot more pocket friendly than the G6.

It might be the best iPhone Apple released but what will it do better than say the iPhone 8, your paying a premium for the screen & design that others such as Samsung & LG are charging alot less for.

Don't pay any attention to these people, you made a nice choice. The G6 is a good phone, heck I even got an LG Rebel for free as part of some deal and it's even a decent little phone. You can be sitting pretty not having to make any $50/month (45 pound?) payments on a phone, and everything works just fine. Gone are the days when the androids were way slower and laggier than the iPhone, now we are just talking preference of OS and small luxury features of this phone or that one. Glad you saved some money.

You make some valid points here. Operating systems are Close in aspect with performance and features. But the reason I choose the iPhone is because of the communication between all my iOS devices (iPad, Apple Watch, Laptop). Also the continuous updates Apple provides is more over Android on a regular basis as well. And I value Apple's security methods.

This.

It doesn't out do the competion from android and doesn't warrant the ridiculous price tag imo. I've pre-ordered the note 8 which although is quite expensive, will still be cheaper 256GB iPhone 8 and does a lot more. Keeping my 7 plus as well.

Yeah, you are choosing two mediocre phones (at near $1000) over the best one that you claim you can't afford (at near $1000).
The G6 is not mediocre. Apart from not having an oled display it will still be better than the iPhone 8 imo.

You don't want to spend $1000 on the newest iPhone so you buy a $500 phone from last year + the next iPhone SE.

You'd be better off spending $1000 on the 8.
The G6 was released this year.

How can people claim the next iPhone is the greatest ever - it's not out yet!
Frankly since the 5, nothing has changed on the iPhone I for one am completely bored with it. Apple have 0 chance of get anything from me without revolution.

How can you first complain that people are claiming the 8 will be the greatest iPhone ever and then end with saying that Apple will have 0 chance of getting anything out of you...without the 8 being out yet.

Seems contradictory.

What does the last sentence say?
The context part is at the end "without revolution", it's got no contradictions

Eh, I'll give you that. However it still runs on a soc from last year (821) which is about on par with the A8.

My overall point of a G6 + the next SE will probably end up costing more than just buying the iPhone 8 would cost OP.

The SE 64GB cost me £305 back in March, the G6 cost me £425 the other day, which works out at £730 still cheaper than the iPhone X will possible cost even for the 64GB version.

And not a case of not be able to afford it I can but i won't go paying close to £1000 for just one phone, when i can have the luxury of a near bezel-less display & more freedom to do what i like with it for fraction of the price, yet still have a iPhone for other things.

As I mentioned before the iPhone X won't do anything better than what you get from the iPhone 8 Plus your paying for that OLED Screen & less bezel that all something Android phones are also offering at much lower cost.

Actually it's you that just paid a £500 premium purely for a screen and design in addition to the perfectly good iPhone you already had.

By the time potential iPhone 8 purchasers have sold on their existing iPhones (because you know, nobody needs two phones) they won't have paid barely any more than you, but they'll have an iPhone 8 rather than a year old Android.

I think he won't like your answer =D.
