Ok, I have a 15" 2010 MBP. Every time I shut the computer, the sleep/wake light sensor thing stays still (it doesn't blink like it's suppose to). Therefore, once i open my computer, the login screen screen looks like it has been on when the computer is shut...it is weird. However, I noticed that it only happens if the charger is hooked up to it. Is this a hardware issue? a software issue? new issue? old issue?

I know I probably described this terribly, but I have no idea what is going on.

my 2008 Macbook unibody shows the same behaviour, so i think it does this on purpose. i'm on 10.7.2 if you care...

Does the Apple logo glow when the lid is shut? If not the backlight is at least not on, so I doubt the LCD is. Mine stays lit for about 10 seconds then begins to blink. Are you waiting long enough? Mine was also plugged in while testing this.

Edit:
Exhibits the same behavior while not plugged in also.
