Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but the attached picture just showed up on my iPhone. It was not on my MacBook, but imported last time I imported pictures. That is how I found it.

I have no idea where it came from or how it just appeared.

Really though, that is weird.
 
Perhaps you accidentally saved the picture while browsing the web/reading e-mail? Pictures you save go into your camera roll.

Nope. I am aware of this function. Never was on a site that even had this picture.

I had my iphone crash before - and it took a snapshot of my "locked" screen (with the pass code prompt) - I think ( in my case ) the camera software bricked.

I still have it in my photos. :)
