I am in the process of trying to replace my Harddrive in my Powerbook G4 15inch.

I don't know what model I have..... You probably don't either, but I can't figure it out. :(

I bought it fall of 2003 (I think) I believe it is the PC2700, so therefore I am thinking its M8980LL/A...... But how can I find out for sure. I read Apple.com's guide to figuring out which model you have but it was no help.

------------------------------------------

Also opinions on buying a new laptop. I really love the Macbook white shell, and I kind of want a smaller laptop. Its double specs on everything than mine is currently so no doubt it will satisfy me. But that model has been out for awhile. I would hate to buy it and a new one drop the next month.

Thanks so much to everyone and anyone who helps in this matter.

You might also want to try coconutIdentityCard, which will tell you the manufacture date of the computer and give you a better idea of what timeframe you're looking for.

The white MacBook is still being quietly updated.

Thanks, I'll hold off on the Macbook purchase looks like I need to wait about 3-4 months (or less possibly)

Ok I still can't figure out which model I have.

But according to this website..........

http://www.drivesolutions.com/cgi-b...&comptype=apl116&pos=0&type=itemid&itemid=lu7

All the Powerbook G4s would use this. I know I have a 60 GB HD.

Before I order this I wanted to make sure I am not buying the wrong thing.
