I'm using an unlocked iPhone 4 that I brought from Europe and I've been using it on AT&T for over a year, contract free. I used the loophole last year to get unlimited data and it's been working flawlessly ever since.

Now, I have the opportunity to get an unlocked iPhone 4S from Europe, again.
If I just pop in the AT&T SIM card, will I get the faster 3G, or "4G" as they call it?

Thanks.

Yes

Yes, but only if your city/town has been upgraded to the faster 4G. Many places are faster than 3G but not all the way up to hspa+, which I think is around 10 mbit.

If you run a speed test and are maxing out around 2-3 mbs with the iphone4, mostly likely you will not have 4G. If you get around 5-6 mbs, there is a good chance the 4S can go faster.
