I just bought a spare hard drive and am using 1/2 of it for storage.

I want to move my imovie files over to the room I have on my spare hard drive. I'm down to only 24 GB on my macbook pro, because of this big project I just finished. Is there a way for me to move all of the files I no longer need? Also, if I have to access them, how easy is this? I have a macbook pro.

Is the hard drive formatted correctly (HFS+, or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) ) ? If so it's just a matter of plugging in the drive and dragging the files you want to move to the external drive icon that pops up on your desktop.

I'm currently plugged into the hard drive, with the icon on my desktop already...

Thanks! So now all I have to do is transfer the files I want to store, and then delete the ones in imovie, correct? I want to make sure the Idvd I made stays in tact. If the projects and events are deleted on my mac in Imovie, will the chain be broken should I choose to burn more copies of the Idvd project?

I really appreciate your help...I'm new to all of this tech stuff...
