On the eve of my 21st birthday, I figured I would spoil myself and check craigslist for a Wii. I found this right away:

Hello and thanks for looking at my Wii for sale. I have had this Wii for less then 2 months, I still have the receipt with the date on it. This is a nice bundle and I hope I can find a good home for it, since I do not have much time to actually play it.

Included are:

Nintendo Wii System (all cables, box, manuals)
Official Nintendo High-Definition Cables
Extra Controller and Nunchuck
Resident Evil 4 for Wii
Zelda Twilight Princess for Wii
Super Paper Mario for Wii
Two Nintendo Classic Controllers
Virtual Class Points total: 10,000

I downloaded a lot of classic games on this system, such as paper mario, mario cart, and tons of others, I also have about 2000+ points that I never spent. I bought 5 of the 2,000 point carts for it, so you get the idea.

All games and systems are in perfect condition and come with all cases, manuals, etc... Total Spent on above was more then $600. If you are a serious buyer, leave your phone number and I will call you. Thanks. Price is Firm but negotiation is possible. Thanks.

So I called the guy up and offered him $450, and he took it.

Do you guys think I got a good deal? When I called he said he has many more VC games. I guess that is what "virtual class total" means.

I am meeting him later tonight to claim my prize, unless you all think I am getting ripped off. Whats the verdict?

Seems like a good deal to me. Take a friend with you and meet in a very public location for safety's sake :)

Yeah we are meeting in a parking lot outside the target he works at, in a very busy part of Boston. I am going to take a friend, but I don't think there will be any trouble, this guy seems pretty nice.

Although, you can never really tell...

My uncle Lester seemed pretty nice, and now he is in jail, and I have to go to therapy twice a week.

wooooo, which Target, i'll come and offer him $500.

Thats actually what he was asking in the first place. It is at the South Bay shopping center! We can meet there and battle our pokemans, the victor gets the wii!

It seems like a good deal. Numbers add up. If he has as many freebies as he is claiming, seems like you got a good deal. Since the Wii is still rare, the price that you are offering is pretty good. I do have to say, i still can't believe that you can't find one. Boggles my mind...

They are still scarce here.

I called him and canceled, I can't afford this package right now lol.

And I hopefully have something pending with a user here, if he ever signs on again since this afternoon!

$250- Nintendo Wii System (all cables, box, manuals)
$30 - Official Nintendo High-Definition Cables
$60 - Extra Controller and Nunchuck
$30 - Resident Evil 4 for Wii
$50 - Zelda Twilight Princess for Wii
$50 - Super Paper Mario for Wii
$40 - Two Nintendo Classic Controllers
$100? - Virtual Class Points total: 10,000

10,000 points seems a bit high, you sure it wasn't 1,000?

Anyway, IGNORING the Virtual Console Points, there's $510 worth of stuff there, plus however many VC points are included (if it's really 10,000, then that's $100 in classic games right there).

Realistically $450 is maybe just under it's all worth used, but it's still not a bad deal at all. (again, not counting the VC points; if there's 10,000, then it's a very good deal).

The seller said he bought 5 2,000 point cards, so yea it's 10,000 minus the games he already bought. So yes, good deal.

Didn't you read his last post?

He canceled the offer:(

I sure did. I just didn't have that kind of money.

However

The next day, Friday, my 21st birthday, I was walking through the mall looking for the DMV to get my lisence renewed, and the gamestop just got a shipment in! So I bought one!

A few friends bought me Mario Party and Zelda, so I guess things worked out.
