ok i just got my iphone and i wanted to charge it first (thats the first thign u do before anything else right?)

anyway when i stuck the plug into a power socket and connected it to my iphone it gave me an icon that signaled me to use a usb cable to connect to itunes and gave me the option to "slide for emergency" or something?

emergency? what emergency?!! help

is someting wrong? also i turned off the phone to let it just sit there and charge but i dont see any kind of green battery icon or anything??

It seems your phone just isn't activated. The 'slide for emergency' is to dial 911 in case of an emergency, even if the phone isn't activated.

That's normal.

It was just telling you that you could slide to unlock the phone if you needed to make an emergency call.

i dont hav my macbook with me right now..should i just let it charge? how long should the initial charge be?

or should i just wait until i can get it to itunes

the initial charge should be however long you want it to
the batteries come pre calibrated
some people like to calibrate them themselves, but youd have to drain it completely first, then charge it. When you get it, its already partially powered up

it charges through the USB anyway - it multitasks. its a woman:eek:

yes you'll need internet access in order to activate the phone.

Just Charge it every night.

And it needs the internet to activate your phone.

The Phone comes like 3/4 Charged anyway, its charged as they load the software at Apple.

I dont understand how this is complicated? Unbox iPhone. Plug iPhone into iTunes, Follow On screen instructions, done.

My suggestion is that you return the phone to ATT or Apple and get a Zack Morris phone because you are obviously not qualified to own an iPhone.

LMFAO, that's hilarious, but yeah it's really not that complicated, plug it in, make sure you're connected to the internet, activate it. If you can't do it go to an ATT store or Apple and explain your distress and they'll come to your aid I'm sure,

Then when you leave they will probably snicker behind your back about how retarded you are.

You're from Texas... keep that in mind.

We have to forgive the OP. Keep in mind that setting up a smart phone isn't like a regular phone. If you've never done it before, it might be a bit confusing. Cut the OP some slack.

Ok. But I still say that if you can't even set it up on iTunes then you won't know how to work the actual phone.

Yeah, it sounds really bad, but I'm sure he/she will learn...wait, do you live in a town called Killeen in Texas? Like, Killin' in TX.
