I woke up this morning and checked my email and bam! there it was, my shipment notification and tracking number. But as i kept reading my enthusiasm left as i saw.... "Delivers by: June 22, 2009". As you can imagine I had the oft-used sudden record scratch in my head.

Truly dissapointing, but i clicked the tracking number and i got something far different:

Which should i believe? Should i be dancing for joy or crying into my pillow?

its exactly what it says, scheduled for X date means thats when it should come if nothing goes wrong. it's when its supposed to arrive.
delivered by is the latest possible date, in case something goes wrong and it is delayed.

Apple can't promise anything once it is outside their factory. Their date is probably a CYA. As for the tracking information, it may be scheduled to be in your zip code by the 18th, but may still have a "Do Not Deliver Before June 19" stamped on it.
