Well, call me a total noob, but I just realized that in Adobe InDesign CS5 (hell, you might be able to do it in earlier versions, but whatever), you can save things in the ePub format. This means that you can take your projects with you on your iPad and show them off! Of course, you can't work on them, but imagine the possibilities. As a journalism student looking to go into the magazine/advertising industry... I could take an iPad with me to potential client meetings and use it to show off my work!

There is plenty of other Epub readers for the Iphone/Ipad and has been for a 'long' time. For the purpose you would be using it for it is likley one of the other Epub readers might be better suited to you, since Ibooks is designed for reading books.
