I just purchased a new Pro on the 31st of Aug now a new release...

nope, full refund is only applicable within 14 days, besides, the rumor has been floating around since september, they even changed the dates several, several times, from before sept 20th, to before oct, to mid october to late october...blah blah blah.
don't get worked up over nothing man, they just have to keep some rumor mill running and get some discussions going to generate some traffic..
I just ordered mine today, and if I were you, I wouldn't really get all pissy and all, 200mhz won't be noticeable or anything for whatever you do.

whatever ur doing on ur current macbook pro wont be any different on what u would be doing ona newer one. u wont even notice a speed difference unless you are a heavy graphic editing and such.

No I believe you just saying it would be rather funny...Anywho if there is a new MBP coming out in 2012 what Q you think? I'm currently waiting until I get taxes back in may (to buy my first MBP ever) and kind of hoping it comes before then or at least before fall of 2012 that along with the iphone 5. I have an upgrade in April for my phone, going to wait until Iphone 5 comes out to decide on Galaxy Nexus or Iphone 5..again though hoping they both come out before fall of 2012 so I have them before next semester starts.

yeah, if you don't have an immediate need (like me..../sigh), just wait for the Ivy Bridge update; supposedly, it has way better battery life, USB 3.0, and fairly likely, a new vid card.
Oh, by then, there will surely be a new and better S/Android phone XD

MBP newbie for the next 2 months....And we know what that will be anyway.
Not a major hardware upgrade yet. Just a few tweaks here and there....I'd grab a bargain now...It's what I did. These are not WIndoze stuff, and there is alway's a good return on well looked after second hand Mac's . So you really can't lose.

So I take it theres a good chance it all will be coming out Q2 (May,June,July,August) 2012?
Since Ivy Bridge chips have just gone into production, yeah, I think it's fairly logical to assume so. Q2~Q3
