Yep, mine does the same when I used the toro riding mower. It does not realize that I am wearing noise canceling headphones which almost cancel the mower noise completely. Led Zeppelin and ELP are preferred!

It’s a warning. I can tell you about wearing hearing aids at 38 years old.
I second that. I wear one in my right ear, since 25. I am 53 now. It was noise related.

You can turn it off, but I leave mine on. It is a warning that if possible remove yourself from the source of sound so you don’t damage your ears.

That said, wow that is some sneeze!

I get this warning at work during breakfast and lunchtime in the MPR with about 225 kids. I really considering wearing NASCAR type headphones, so I can hear the radio calls.

Because ANC doesn't block noises out, it just creates more noise to even it out. ANC headphones are NOT meant to protect your hearing.

I do not agree. You are wrong.

Noise cancelling headphones produces a pressure wave that counteracts the noise’s pressure wave, cancelling it out and greatly decreasing the pressure wave before reaching your ear drums. It is simple physics.

I have different noise cancelling headphones I use for target practice at the firing range. Without, my ears would be ringing, with, nothing but a low thud when I pull the trigger. No ringing.

Bruh I get these alerts when I use hand dryers in public bathroom! 🚽

But if it’s for people yelling, the CNC machine running high speeds and feeds without coolant and causing some loud screeches and noises, I’d be concerned.

Noise cancelling headphones are not a substitute for proper hearing protection.

They are not guaranteed to block 100% of noise.

It was obviously working as designed, but seeing as I'm wearing ear plugs when out on the factory floor, it's just a nuisance. It's a great feature, it just doesn't work well for those of us who routinely work in loud environments (with proper hearing protection).
Hey there! I’m in a class where we work with CNC machines on Tuesday afternoons. The cool thing is, we don’t need to wear earplugs or headphones because they have enclosures on these machines. I still like to wear my AirPods and listen to my favourite artist or replay some of my favourite songs from my library.

We also have these modern HAAS CNC machines with mills and lathes that don’t make a lot of noise, even when we set them to high speeds or spindle rates. This is especially helpful when we’re at the end of class and need to finish up a part quickly. So that way we have time to put tools away, clean up and shut the machine down.

As long as you follow the instructions, the noise level should be pretty low. The only times it can get loud are when there’s a crash or when the tool screeches without coolant. And even then, we make sure to run all our programmes with coolant on every time.
