I just transferred some folders onto my external hardrive. A couple of the folders have come up with a white bar on them, does anyone know what this means? Have my photos finished copying?

Nope, it hasn't finished copying. When it's complete, the bar will be fully filled up and then disappear, leaving a solid folder.

restart your computer and check the folder again. mines always finish but they stay with the white until a restart..probably just a bug in mavericks.
