So I was in an area where my 3G signal was showing 5 bars.

For some reason I could NOT connect to the internet. I restarted my phone. I made and received calls without issue (although it did seem a bit slow to connect). I decided to bust out my wife's 3GS iphone and was able to connect to the internet without issue. I even put the phone down on a table to ensure there was no human interference going on. I should also note I have an Apple bumper.

Any ideas why this would occur?

There are several threads about this no internet connectivity issue already.
