my friend...same friend that gave me the documents..said they will be getting like 2,000 pounds of iphones so does that mean they are getting 2,000 iphones?

highly doubting the reliability here..
but the pounds would be the weight...

so you would take 2000 and divide it by the iPhone 3G's weight.

2000 / 133 grams (4.7 ounces) = how many iPhones...

but i dont think this is real.

UNLESSS!!!! its pounds = an amount of money.
in which case, just divide that amount by the cost of the iPhone.

That is the phone alone. How much will the total box with docs weigh? I agree though, seems really high.

lets do some quick math here

an iphone weighs 133g

lets say with it's packaging it weighs .75lbs

2666 phones for one att store?

is this a flagship att store or just some hole in the mall?

what the ?

its usually units or skids? not pounds

move on folks...this is a make up rumor

are you going to believe this random kid?

Well (3) iPhone 8gb (first gen) boxes weigh (with phone, sealed box)

21.6 ounces

I just weighed them on my food scale

thus

7.2 ounces per box (0.45 pounds)

So 2000 pounds would like rought equal 4444.4444444 (so 4444 iPhones)

Would there really be 4 thousand plus iPhones?

who the hell quotes units in lbs?

lol... i was thinking the same thing...

but if this guy does have access to tracking info he can probably see the shipping weight. more than likely though that 2000lbs (if true) is part iphone part display crapola. when i worked for at&t we used to get huge (and heavy) cardboard cut outs of the phones and what not upon launch.

though, 2000lbs sounds very excessive. it's almost certainly B.S.

If you speak nicely enough to the manager you should get a decent estimate of stock levels. I know of at least 1 manager I have spoken to who gave an estimate of stock inventory for the previous iPhone launch at a medium town sized O2 shop.

It's pretty hard to sell out if you're stock room is full of the darn things and you get regular re-ups.
