Hi,
I had a .rtf document in TextEdit open on my Macbook air & Maverick OS. Then it closes by itself and can't be found anywhere, but it shows up in the system recent documents list. When I try to open it from there, nothing happens. I can't view it in Finder either. Can't find it using Spotlight or Easyfind, searching file name or string in the contents. Tried running two file recovery apps Stellarphoenix and Easeus, didn't find it.
I looked at ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist and this pushed the lost file out of the recent documents list!!
Anyone have a clue if the contents of the file are still there in the computer any more at all, or is it lost?? Any way to make a deeper search or look in hidden temp files or anything like that?
At least from now on I'm saving in Dropbox
