iPod touch I know this is on the board but I am stupid and need help

I am trying to use filezilla to get into my ipod but it says can not connect and I have put all the right info in any ideas?

I've used filezilla, SmartFTP, WinSCP, and PuTTY, and all of them give me a connection timed out error, is there anyway to fix this?

you can transfer with putty, use winscp, it can do everything as putty + more
