.....my iCal wont give me alarms. ever! Im not new to mac or dumb, I know how to set alarms, they worked all the time without fail on my iBook. But with my iMac G5, I get no alarms. I recently noticed that I had something planned for tonight that I specifically made sure to be reminded about by setting the "message with alarm" one day before event. The alarm never showed. I doubled checked and low and behold its set for an alarm. What gives?? I never close iCal, I checked my preferences and everything seems ok.

Any ideas??

Could be that something messed up your preferences file? Try deleting your iCal preferences - or specifically, move them somewhere so you can replace them if necessary - and see if that works.

Also, you could try repairing permissions (use this thread as a guide), thought I don't know why that would fix it.

Yup, that fixed it. I ditched the "com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist" file, reopened iCal and it worked. Thanks bro!
