After picking up my phone on launch day I left the bag with the iPhone box under the table where I was eating at the food concourse ( I know I’m a idiot but I had lots of bags with me 😂) I already have plenty of cables and stuff So that’s not what’s worrying me. I’m just worried about when I go and try and sell the phone next September ppl with think it’s sketchy that it doesn’t come with the original box. I phoned apple care and they said they can’t do anything unless my phone gets damaged and they would send me a new one . I don’t think I want to purposely break this phone and pay $ just for the box.

I have proof of purchase, so my only idea would be to take about 50 dollars off the asking price when I sell the phone next year to justify not having the box. (Id give them a charger tho)

if anyone has any other suggestions or have had something similar happen to them please feel free to reply !

Happy Monday !!

I can sell you a box if you’d like. In fact, I’ll take $50 off my asking price for you. 😂

You don’t need the box. I sent one back in another box with no issues to Apple, And if you sell it privately as long as the phone works, who care if you have a box. They’re going to throw that box away anyway at some point

1. You might lose a few $ in re-sale but people will buy a phone no box without issue. Everyone knows not everyone keeps the box.

2. If you get it replaced you will get a generic box.

3. If you buy a box from someone else the IMEI/Serial on the box won't match, which would raise more eyebrows than no box.

4. Don't fret.

The box is a "nice to have" item for resale but not critical. And if you do a trade-in the original box is superfluous. Have you checked with the restaurant in which you lost it? I've left things at my local Cheesecake Factory restaurant and they had them behind the counter in their Lost & Found box.

I have never resold my smartphones to another person nor have I ever been asked for the box and it's contents. Every smartphone that I have traded in involved the device itself whose condition and appearance were the only factors. Since I used a rugged case and a tempered glass screen protector, my phones are always pristine and look as if they were straight out of the box.

$50? You're crazy. At most deduct $20.

Most people don't care about the box. I've never had to lower my sell price because of a missing box. People still buy it for whatever I've asked.
