While trying to solve another problem I managed to hide my hard drive icon in finder. I was trying to re-index the hard drive according to the directions at: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2409 and now I can't find my hard drive. I was trying to cleanup the hard drive to get more memory. Anyone out there with help?

Did you restart your Mac? Also go to Finder > Preferences > General and select Hard disks to show on the desktop.

Thank you! I didn't know I could do this. Very helpful!

Finder > Preferences > Sidebar, from there you can select your HDD to be shown in the Sidebar.
