I lost the answer

I had 400 songs on my Iphone 5 that I got from a legal 3rd party. It was in my Itunes library. When I went on the library now they are all gone. If I plug my iphone into my laptop I will lose all my music. Someone on this site told me what to purchase to rectify this. I can't find their reply. Please help.
