... I am so tired of dealing with this garbage.

I go to listen to my music at the gym after restoring my phone from jailbreak and waiting almost an hour for everything to sync and EVERY SONG has the "download from cloud" icon by it. Great. I'll resync when I get home and waste more time.

Well here I am ready to throw an hour at iTunes and this is what I see.

What is this program you speak of that syncs things?

Wait is that? No. It can't be. Is that.....iTunes? That still exists?

Is there anybody that can help me understand why this is happening?

I feel ya. Two reasons I left iphone after the 5. Small screens and iTunes. I'm returning to the iPhone 6+because almost all of my media is streamed now. Spotify, plex, and Netflix keep me plenty entertained.

yeah, don't ***** jailbreak it and complain. surprised that modifying your software drastically caused issues? *gasp*

Wow. You are so incredibly helpful. Did you actually, I dunno, READ the OP?

This is a phone that was restored through iTunes. Therefore, not jailbroken.

Is your iTunes up to date? It looks like a fairly old version is running. That could be your problem if the iPhone 5S and iOS 7 is not fully compatible with iTunes

I'm on 11.4 and it says it's current.

You clearly are uninformed about jailbreaking. One has nothing to do with the other in this instance. Sheesh.

What looks like happened is when you restored from the jailbreak, the jailbroken version of the os wasn't deleted. Probably caused by some exploit or what ever code was installed to jailbreak the phone.

When you restored, the phone didn't recognize that data, so it defaulted to "other".

Same happens to me and I am not jailbroken. It happens when I put non-apple media on my phone, then take it off.

Weird. Never considered that as a factor. I certainly have a lot of that.

Do you subscribe to match? Or do you just not put music on your phone?

I know this isn't a direct solution to your problem but that frustrated me too so I went with iTunes Match for the fact that I never have to keep music on the phone anymore (unless I choose to).
