Hi, just wondering if anyone can advise me. I left my iMac back to the company I bought it off less than 12 months ago. The optical drive was faulty and wouldnt burn cd's or Dvd's. They replaced the drive free of charge. However, when I go into the system info it shows a different type of drive has been installed. The original drive could burn to what looked like all types of disks,
i.e. +Dvd-R, +Dvd RW, -Dvd-R, -Dvd-RW and same for cd's
The new drive will only burn to -r and -rw.
Here's what shows up in the system info under disk burning

HL-DT-ST DVDRW GA32N:

Firmware Revision: KC12
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
Cache: 0 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -RW
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, CD-Raw, DVD-DAO
Media: To show the available burn speeds, insert a disc and choose View > Refresh

Just wondering if they have installed a lesser spec burner and if I should go back to them and tell them I want the original type drive reinstalled?

Any advice will be appreciated......thanks
