I included the file to replace if you want it.
Place it in your /var/mobile/Library/ and override the file (Its just the PNG files) and respring.

The old Elert pop up was horrible, so i decided to make a better looking pop-up or at least try.

You need to install elert from cydia, it just a pop up of an incoming e-mail which you can view without leaving the app. Once you get it installed download the file above and place it in /var/mobile/Library/ and respring.

TSX,
I placed these in the var/mobile/application/elert folder but it didn't ask me to overwrite anything. There were 3 files with a 1 in front of the 3 new files. So I'm not sure if the new view works or not since I haven't used this in a while, didn't know it worked for ios4. I also can't change the font color, I press the option and it takes me to a FAQ page

You stuck it in the wrong directory, Place it in the /var/mobile/Library/ and respring. The files with the 1 are the original files

Sorry, I meant to say /var/mobile/Library/elert folder. I t looks like it did work out for me, my elert looks like the one you posted with the white envelope. Thanks for this.

As long as your not on ios 4 there is Grip it does SMS and email and it's free. Looks exactly like this.
Wish someone would pick up grip and update it. Been tweaking for weeks with stuff like notified and plugins just to try to get close to what Grip did. Sure it may have put the phone in safe mode every now and again, but it was worth it.

it looks amazing! wish some dev would take it up?
chpwn? anyone!!1

Grip's dealbreaker for me: no SMS reply function (that I saw). That's why I uninstalled it, and that's why I havn't installed it on my 4.

Still, it was a great concept and decently executed, development definitely shouldn't have stopped. That's one jb app I'd pay for if it had a few more features.

Definitely going to put your theme for elert on next time I'm in an ssh mood, thanks for the work!
