I need a new laptop

When is a good time to buy a laptop ? Apple is always full of surprises . I want my old one for just PS cs 3 / Iphoto /Bridge / Essentials 3 /mail / and safari . The new can have anything else . I also what to increase the laptops memory . It has a 2GHZ intel Core 2 duo with two 1 GB banks . Can this be done . Thanks

history shows that apple will update the macbook pro line in feb.

no one really knows if they will or not

but they usually do..
