I need advice for .avi Player

Hello guys i`m new proudly user of Macbook Air 1.6ghz 80 gb.... so i have a question about what is the best player for avi which supported subtitles.Cuz now i`m using VLC and i`m not very excited of it!Thank you

I use QuickTime with the Perian plug-in.

i have perian too but no subs :/i dont know why is that?
