Ok, I know there a lot of questions out there about RAM and stuff but here is my dilema. I have a MB w/ 1gb of ram and an iMac CD with 512mb, my question is should I just buy another 512mb for the iMac CD or by a 1gb stick for the MB and put the extra 512mb in the iMac. I ask this because i've read here that if you go from a gig the next step is 2gigs. I guess what I'm asking is should I go from 1 to 1.5?

If you can afford it, I personally would advise you to go ahead and purchase 2 gigs instead - you can get a fantastic deal from newegg on a matched pair of corsair gig sticks for 89 bucks right now.

Put the two gigs in the macbook, and then put the gig from the macbook into the iMac.

But, for the upgrade you actually talked of in the first place, I would do just what you said. Put the 1 gig in the MB, and then put the extra 512 in the iMac.

Just my two cents. :apple:

Depends what yo use your laptop and iMac for..

But I would still go straight to 2GB on the Macbook and stick the 1gb in your iMac.
