Do you have a "NextDoor" neighborhood group where you live? I've found that very useful for selling used equipment. More localized and personal than Ebay. You can set the boundaries to include just your immediate neighbors or larger areas of your choice. I restrict sales to cash or PayPal, but you may have other preferences. Everything I've listed with NextDoor has sold quickly.
Not to state the obvious, but to make a sale your item must be priced right. Be realistic about what it is actually worth on the used market. That is often much less than the seller's sentimental value.
When you become eligible, the "for sale" list here on Mac Rumors is a good sales channel for outside your immediate location.
