A friend Mac user of mine wants to make a slideshow with music on it. Now I know this would easily be done in iMovie, however, she needs to give it to someone with a PC to add to the PC friends movie.

Would the PC be able to use the .mov file iMovie makes? Would iMovie be able to convert the file into something the PC will be able to easily handle?

I've never used iMovie, take this with a grain of salt.

.mov is just a container file, I'm fairly certain if you rename it to .avi and it's encoded in a codec that exists on the PC then it will work fine. Or you can just download quicktime and not worry about it :)

Nope, you cannot rename .mov file to .avi. PCs can use Quicktime for Windows or addons so that media player will play .mov files.
