Someone sent me a WMA recording of a speech that I'm supposed to listen to. Even at full volume using headphones, I can hardly hear the speaker and the sound is rather muffled. Is there any Mac app that will allow me to jack up the volume and enhance the audio?

You can use the vocal booster eq in itunes, the eq is accessible from the window menu.

Strangely, I can't even import the WMA file into iTunes, either when I drag the icon to the iTunes logo on the dock, or when I use File>Import. Any ideas?
I've been using Windows Media Player.

Ok, since I found this via Google waaaaay after it was posted, I thought I would at least post an amazing (offline) audio enhancer that I use all the time in conjunction with Final Cut Pro: The Levelator 2 from The Conversations Network at http://www.conversationsnetwork.org/levelator.

It works amazingly well, donation-ware, and can even level multiple conversations in the same audio file.
