I just got this email from AT&T:

Subject: Your iPhone 3G is here. Our AT&T representative is contacting you to set appointment.

Your iPhone 3G order is ready to be picked up at the AT&T store where you reserved it. Please bring your reservation receipt and a valid ID when you pick-up your order. You will also want to ensure that your account is in good standing at time of pickup by making payment in store. This will avoid any account status issues due to mail delays.

Our AT&T representative will contact you to arrange a pick up time. If you are an Original iPhone customer our representative can assist you with activating your new iPhone 3G and also your Original iPhone. Your plans may include giving your Original iPhone to another family member. So
please remember to bring your Original iPhone with you.

We look forward to seeing you!!!

So I need an appointment to pick it up? I don't know where they are trying to contact me. Maybe at my home number? I'm at work right now and want to pick it up on the way home. Can I just show up at the store without an appointment to pick it up?

I would. They're hardly going to tell you to come back some other time when it's sat in the back waiting for you.

Yeah, I'd just go there, I don't see why you couldn't just walk in and get it.

Why not just call the store instead of posting in the forum?

BTW, congrats in advance on the new iPhone

I got that email and waited an hour and didn't get a call so I went in. They were sitting behind the service desk. The appointment is when they finally decide to open up and call. I wouldnt wait.
