I need an audio program compatible with a mac os 10.13.6 like audacity
my church was gifted a mac os 10.13.6 and i am trying to make use of it.
I would love to continue to use the audacity program but i need to know how to get a version that will work on this computer. I would use the audacity then make canva videos. I am open to use new to me programs that work on mac. Any help is appreciated

Older versions of Audacity?
Try here:
(many choices)
Oops, same link brian posted above -- posting anyway.

Also see THIS page:

It says the current version of Audacity will work on 10.13.

What year is the iMac?

Every Mac ships with an app called Garage Band.

Not quite true. You have to download it. And if you buy an old Mac that cannot run the current version of GB, and if you haven't ever downloaded an older version of GB before (when it was current), Apple won't necessarily share a version with you that will run on your old hardware/OS. That's partly how they enforce obsolescence.

That's why sometimes it's necessary to ... (cough)... "go hunting"...
Seek... and [often times] one shall "find".

Example:
macintoshrepository.org/software_search.php?s=garageband&sid=&k=

Canva quit working and I was told you can not update this computer anymore when it was donated to me for my church.
sorry to ask such stupid questions but perhaps apple for Mac probably has an older program that may work any advice appreciated. I want to make ppts that I can make into worship follows for church and other things . So I would love it to have a capability to import audios, and videos and pictures and also to be able to type text for song lyrics its to time the slides with the music. Like a moviemaker of some kind .

Keynote can do all of that. But again, considering how old the computer is, I can't say if Apple will allow you, as a new user, to download a version of the program from the App Store that is compatible with your computer.

Sounds harsh - because it absolutely is - but this is how Apple make sure that perfectly-capable older computers are basically useless when purchased used, by not allowing new users to download software from the Apple servers that's compatible with hardware and firmware which Apple consider to be obsolete. Think Apple stopped distributing apps on DVDs for 'environmental reasons', or so that they could make laptops thinner and lighter? Think again: it was all about control.

I hope you can find something from third-party vendors which allows you to breathe sufficient life into your old computer so that you can make some use out of it.

thanks as a crusty " conspiracy realist" your explanation makes perfect sense to me. I am 67 and if you know of any 3rd party venders I could start with and any other sage advice I would certainly be thankful.
Your name --- there use to be and may still be a biker bar not far from fort Bragg in NC the Fayetteville / spring lake area called FUBAR ha ha. Love the name
