Finally upgrading my g5 to a 30" screen and I can't find a Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition anywhere??

Anyone know of a place that has some.. ATI website says 33 DAYS!! to ship one. This is a travesty.

I have the dual 2gig G5 so I need AGP. I can't tell if the card is AGP or not..

My problem is more that they are back ordered all over the US. Most places say 4 weeks, ATI website says about the same. I am getting a new 30" on Friday. So I don't want to wait a month to use my new monitor.

would I be able to use a generic ATI X800, like here. Isn't the hardware the same?

Is there a X1900 AGP card out there? I heard a rumor that they were going to make a AGP version of this card, I can only fine PCIe online.

The hardware is actually a little different (the Mac version has an ADC port). The biggest problem, however, is that the firmware is different. You can try flashing the firmware with something that works on a Mac...but you have to know what you're doing.... (And no, there is no AGP X1900.)

WHAT A DEAL!!!

Well...I paid $450 for mine, and that was with $50 off from ATI. Of course, that was when they were first released. Just pretend it's 2005. :)

Anyway, just put in a low bid, instead of doing "buy it now". Maybe you'll get lucky and nobody else wants it.

Seems like they are backordered everywhere....

I suggest (as someone else said) looking at GeForce 6800 Ultras or GTs - they might be cheaper, and the difference in performance is not huge.

Also keep your eye open for the Radeon X850XT Mac Edition - fastest AGP card for the Mac ever officially sold...you might score one on ebay.

Funny thing, I think it is only a BUY IT NOW auction, it won't let me put in a bid. I didn't even know you were allowed to do that? Taking advantage of the desperate. I really really want that card... but how bad?? $200 above retail bad?
