I have a western digital home mybook 1 TB drive running firewire to my mac mini. It's only used for time machine backups and my entire iphoto library!

Today I purchased a recording interface and daisy chained the unit to the WD harddrive to power the recording interface. I then connected my macbook pro at the same time via firewire from the interface. Immediately I saw the WD drive on the laptop. I didn't want that so I just unplugged the firewire as it was just a basic test to see what I can just hook up and have power.

Well I unhooked everything and just went to the mini like before and now I cant reckognize the HD on either computers. I have tried both USB and firewire connections (not at the same time) and the WD drive manager in the taskbar sees the drive but says its 0% filled!! Time machine cant find a volume. I hear the drive working like it's writing etc but I can't access it. I've had the drive for just over a year and literally its only been used for iphoto and time machine backups.

***edit*** I just spoke with western digital. Basically they said the drive was faulty and I should take it to a data recovery place to get the files back and then send them the drive as its under warranty. I have no idea how much this will cost but is there any software that I can maybe get atleast the photos back with? They said the fact that it sounds like its constantly writing means the drive isn't dead just the pin or something doesnt work.

Second edit.... I went upstairs after a couple hours and the drive was mounted. Im in the process of copying my 16 gigs of iphoto onto an exernal usb drive to burn to DVD's
