I need help opening a .SMIL file

I clicked on the "Listen to this Passage" button and I got:



I tried downloading Real Player and Ambulant but neither worked. Help?

I saved the file, clicked "Open With..." and VLC was in gray (I was unable to click it)

There is a drop-down box where you can choose between Recommended Applications and All Applications, set it to All and you can choose VLC.

Looking at the content of the file, I'm not surprised... Nothing to play there.

It seems to be a problem on their end.

VLC does not support .smil files.

Most commonly used web browsers have native support for SMIL. However it was never implemented in Microsoft browsers, and it is marked as deprecated in Google Chrome.[12] Other software that implement SMIL playback include:
