I have a bunch of CD's/DVD's with labels on them.....

My problem is that they get stuck when I try to read them with my iMac... While I'm using toast, it'll read the media for a bit, but then you can hear the drive come to stop...

So...... I wanna know if there's a way to SAFELY remove the labels without damaging the media....

Labels are a pain, because they're right up against the recording surface. Safest is to rip (preferably from a tray loading drive that can tolerate labels well) and re-burn.

If you're lucky, the adhesive isn't all that grippy and you can gently peel them off. You won't always be lucky.

Inkjet discs (they need a printer that can work with those, of course) are a nice way to have it both ways.
