I'm sorry to post here, because I posted in another forum also, but I know a lot more people frequent this one.

I'm trying to log out of iCloud to reset an iPad (I'm trading with my granddaughter). Trouble is, she's on family sharing plan with her mom, and it's saying she doesn't have permission to log out of her iCloud. I got into my daughter's phone, and I don't see a setting that I could change that would make a difference with that.

I've turned off Find my iPad, but I don't know what, if anything, I can do next to reset the iPad. I mean can I just erase all content and settings then remove it from my daughter's iCloud account, and then set it up on mine?

HELP!!

You looked through all of the screen time settings, right?

Do you have screen time enabled? IIRC it needs to be completely turned off (not just 'relevant' settings turned off) to let you sign out.

I do have it enabled. I got on chat with Apple and she said as long as Find My iPad was off, I could erase the iPad, and it would let me set up with my ID. We shall see here shortly.

I did have to put in the screen time passcode to erase it, but that was no biggie.

So I have been able to get my info on the mini with no issue - now the key will be whether I can get her iCloud account logged in on my Air 3 since she's part of the family sharing. Apple says it should work and would automatically put her device into my daughter's device list, so we shall see.
