I need Help with buying an iphone

So today im going to add a line with my family's plan. what im wondering is if i get unlimited texting and 200mb of data when will i be elligible for a upgrade to the newer iphone when it comes out?? I just wanna know if its worth going for the iphone 4 at this moment. or should i stick with a 3gs i have laying around and go contract free on att

As long as that 200mb of data is on the primary line then that primary line would be eligible for an upgrade every year.

I'd upgrade to the iPhone 4. From the current rumors it seems the next model will be a iPhone 4S upgrade.
