I want to start setting up my email program and address book on my new Powermac G5. Which email software is the best and most stable to use?? Let me know your suggestions.....

1. Eudora 6.1?
2. Apple Mail?
3. AOL email?
4. Microsoft Entourage? (If you have to buy MS Office to get this then forget it as I like AppleWorks better than Office)

Also, what is a good Mac OS X software program to make mailing labels with?

Depending on your mail provider, Apple Mail, or Eudora would be the choice. Entourage although made by the only part of M$ that I would buy from, the MBU, I still have to say is bloat-ware, meaning that it takes up a huge amount of space for no real gain. I personally use Mail, and as has already been said is fast, and sturdy and reliable. it also takes up less space on your Hdd.

I'd say give Apple Mail a try. It integrates very well with address book (type in a name or an email, and it will autofill from address book - keep typing until it gets it right).

what he said! hits the nail on the head ;)

I find Apple Mail great the only thing that annoys me is if your e-mail provider goes down, so it keeps asking for your password. Some people do like Entourage though due to having everything in one app, but you will have to buy it.

If you want to try something else Thunderbird by Mozilla is good on the PC and I presume just as good on mac.

Mail.app

Entourage rots, avoid it at all costs.

Mail.app is good, and that's what i use on this here 12" PowerBook.

on my desktop PC i use Thunderbird, which is even better than Mail.app.
