Hi, several months ago, I upgraded my iBook G4 to 10.5.8, however, Safari (4.0.4) will not remember any of my usernames and passwords for websites/forums I have joined since then.

For example, I go to one particular website, enter my username and password and, after I click on "yes" when asked if I would like Safari to remember password, the following occurs:

"Keychain "login" cannot be found to store [username]";

So I click "Reset To Defaults";

I am then asked "are you sure you want to reset your keychain environment to the default?" and I click "yes";

I am then asked to "please enter [my] login password. This password will be used to create your new keychain"; and

I enter my password and go into the site.

When I return to the site, my username and password are not remembered.

I have tried to use the suggestions here at http://www.ehow.com/how_2033316_manage-passwords-safari.html, but I'm not having any success.

Every time I go into Safari > Preferences > Autofill and click on usernames and passwords and go to Edit, no websites are listed.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get Safari to remember my username and passwords?

Thanks.
