This has been going on for a while and I keep hoping an update would fix it but I don't think it is.
So right now here's my process... I keep all my media in iTunes on my MBP. Podcasts are subscribed to and downloaded through iTunes.
I have Podcasts set to sync only unplayed episodes to my iPhone. So I'll download the podcasts and sync it over, either wifi or through Lightning.
Here's where my issue is. After listening to a podcast and syncing back to my Mac (to sync that it's been played) the item disappears from the Unplayed list in iTunes but a greyed out version remains in the Podcast app on iPhone. Tapping on these does nothing.
Am I doing something wrong? I have Subscription turned off, Refresh Podcast Manually, Auto-Download off. Should I let it just run? I also have Sync Subscriptions turned off. Should I let it run its course and hope it should work? I think the reason I turned it all off was because it wasn't working just right and I was worried it would kill my batter at work while trying to download a podcast.
