I need new MBP

Hey lads,

so here I am with my 15 inch 2016 MBP. Butterfly keyboard sucks we all know that, but lately a new issue has introduced itself. Basically if I open the lid more than 90 degrees, the white coulour instantly turns yellow and screen starts to flicker being unable to decide whether to stay yellow or white.

I suspect it may be the famous "Flexgate" issue.

I am out of warranty and the repair shall be unquestionably costly.

Now, I am kinda torn, I am kinda excited about 13" M1 performance and everything, but I'd rather have bigger screen laptop. The thing is, 16" is still stuck at 9gen Intel. And I am just unable to force myself to pay the full price for mildly "outdated" tech. But at the same time, I am kinda pressured, because right now I can still sell my current MBP to the retailer and cover some costs of the new machine, which shall not be with the new refresh in my opinion possible.

Are there any rumors about coming 16" refresh? Is here anyone who switched from 15" to 13" and is satisfied with the change?

I am also up to any other recommendation.

There have been some rumors about a refresh around March. As we all know, that may be accurate or be month and months off. If you absolutely need a new Mac right now, consider the M1 13” MBP.

I would not expect to see the re-designed m1 (or m2, or whatever) 14" and 16" MacBook Pros until sometime after this June, or perhaps even later...
