I need some advice, my iMac has been acting very strange, freezing etc

Hello, I purchased this mac last year in october... Since then I have had many issues. These include..

-Slow to start/shut down
-Applications freezing
-Keyboard issues, random letters running out in front e.g tttttttttttttttttttttttttt
-Mouse freezing, or lagging.
-CD drive runs very loudly
-Safari will not open any more.
-Freezes from waking up.

But... This doesn't happen in safe mode. What's wrong? Help would be much appreciated

Run an archive & install / preserve users and network settings. If it's still acting up after that, take the machine in to the shop.

Run the Apple Hardware Test to search for faults.

Safe mode runs the computer with only the essential hardware active.

Back up the files you need in a folder on an external, then reformat and reinstall. Works every time. The only problem is then you have to reinstall all of your programs again.

usually a repair permissions works wonders for this stuff, google it, it isn't hard and won't effect personal data

Definitely run the hardware test and repair permissions before reinstalling.
