I need some Airport Help: OS 9.2

Given the following:

• 
  old Tangerine iBook, sans firewire port, running 9.2
  old Indigo iMac, 1GB mem, running OS 9.2, running 9.2
  The iMac is running a software base station.
  Both can connect to the network.
  File sharing is on.
  USB printer sharing is on.
  AppleTalk is enabled.
  TCIP is AirPort, dhcp for internet
  Printer is on the iMac, selected with the Chooser, and works.
  Key chains are unlocked.

Problem 1
Using the Airport Network browser, I don’t see anything.
With ether the iBook or iMac. Why can't I transfer files any more.
Problem 2
On my iBook (the "client") I can select the Network USB printer, but I can’t print to the USB networked printer.

What am I doing wrong?

Couple of questions:

TCP/IP:
IP from DHCP Server you said: Are you sure this is working correctly? Maybe manually configuring the TCP settings would be better. Rendezvous isn't available on OS 9.
Network USB Printer sharing:
USB printer sharing is over IP, so this must be OK first. Remember both Macs must have the drivers installed, and both Macs must have the Control Panel setup correclty.
AppleTalk:
You mentioned it is enabled, but I assume you mean active, connected to airport....

Working backwards:

AppleTalk enabled and active, and connected through the Airport.

PrinterBoth Mac's have the drivers and can use the printer if directly connected to the printer via the USB and when selected via the Chooser. The iMac has the printer connected to it and I have selected it as a network printer. The iBook can find it, and I can select it, but the selection doesn’t take (I can't print to it). I'll go back to the control panel later on today to make sure that I have both setting the same, but I am sure that I do.

TCPI I'll try manually setting the TCPI setting, but this is the thing: I don't remember ever futzing with the TCPI setting to share files. For some reason I just can do it. Perhaps if somebody went over the process from scratch I could see where my error(s) is/are. Do I set my iBook to conect the to adress given by the software base station?

This is just to make sure it works:

Assign the iMac the following:
IP address (manually): 10.0.0.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Router (gateway, non existent...) 10.0.0.1
DNS: <blank>

Assign the iBook the following:
IP address (manually): 10.0.0.3
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Router gateway, (non existent...) 10.0.0.1
DNS: <blank>

See if you can get WhatRoute 1.7 (is on the Mac OS 9 CD), and ping eachother.

If this works, TCP/IP is setup correctly. At least then you will know it is not any hardware or transport layer.
