Hello, I am completely new to this forum and really don't know much about computers. My macbook is a little over a year old and it is saying my start up disk is full. Does this mean I need more hard drive space? i am a photographer and have tons of photos and editing software on my laptop along with a lot of music. I need more space asap. It wont even let me edit anymore photos. What do I need to do to gain more space/memory?

What you are going to need to do is to move some files onto external storage. There are many external hard drives available; you can buy a 1TB drive for around $100. Alternatively, you could purchase a new and larger internal hard drive. My Macbook Pro came with a 160GB drive, which I have since replaced twice, once with a 320GB and later with a 500GB. As you don't know much about computers, you might want to go to an Apple repair shop to get the drive installed. You should always keep 10-15% of your main hard drive free.
