Hello

I found in a Garage sale a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), but the SDD is broken.

Can someone please help me to find an SDD that works with my MPB model @ Amazon?

Thanks
Camelia

Your 2011 MBPro takes a 2.5-inch SATA, not the newer m2-type cards
Lots of choices through Amazon.
I have recently used the Western Digital, HK Hynix, Adata, Crucial and Kingston -- All work OK. My favorite is probably the Western Digi. If you want a good/cheap price, then Kingston is a good choice, I think.

So if not possible to install an SDD In 2011 MBPro even if I removed the CD?
Why OWC Is selling Solid State Drives For MacBook Pro 13", 15" & 17" (2011) Are they external?

With my 2012 MBPro I don't any problem to replace the SDD right?

Thanks for your suggestion about the Western Digital :)

I hope I did not give you the wrong idea.
Yes, both of your laptops can have the internal drive replaced. The SSDs are different devices for each laptop.
The 2011 replaces the original hard drive with an SSD of the same dimensions - easy to find, virtually any SSD will work. You can even remove the CD drive, and install an SSD in a CD adapter mount. such as this. And, you can then replace both the internal hard drive, AND the CD drive, so you can have two SSDs installed. Gives you lots of storage, without needing to have an external drive attached. (I don't know if I would spend that much money on a 2011 laptop, but that's up to you! ) You can also get that adapter (the data doubler) from Amazon.
The 2014 needs a replacement card that simply plugs in to an internal slot. You are restricted to drives that have been made with the proprietary connector used only on Macs. OWC is one of a limited number of companies that sells the correct type - and you can order those from Amazon, too!

Both the 2011 and 2012 use a standard 2.5 inch drive and a 2.5 inch SSD works great. Since the pandemic I have installed 4 500gb Crucial SSD's in friends 13 inch MBP's without any problem (1-2009, 2-2010 and 1-2011) and just populated a 4 bay RAID with 4 of them. This is what I have used, for not a lot more than the 250gb:

You can also put 16gb ram in both the 2011 and 2012 MBP. I think their great computers.

Depends on how much you want to spend I’d go with SSUBX drive from eBay. They’re original from Apple and provide max speed on these machines. I upgraded my MBP 15” 2014 and Mac Pro 2013 with these drives and speed increase is noticeable.

If you really want to see the difference for yourself go to ifixit.com and review the instructions for swapping out a drive on each model.

My first question to your original post would be: "How have you determined that the SSD is broken and it's not a cable issue?"
