I'm buying the geekdesk and need to raise my imac about 6 inches to level with my eyes. I don't want to do a wall mount, but does anyone know of another solution instead of stacking books underneath it? I would like something nice as clients will be visiting, so nothing tacky.

I have the 27 inch model.

Lower all your chairs 6 inches.

Uboard, assuming your iMac dosen't weigh more than 30 pounds.

I'm not going to be using any chairs, the geekdesk is a stand up working design.

Cut 6 inches off of your legs? :p

My only idea would be a laptop stand. You can get ones which have four legs although I don't know if they'd give you the 6 inches. A small box of drawers maybe? For computer accessories etc. I can't really think of anything else and to be honest it'll look odd anyway unless you add something the same size as the table top.

As it happens, a US dollar bill is just over 6 inches wide. Get three stacks, approximately 12 inches high, place side-by-side, and shrink-wrap together into a firm block. This will be approximately 6x12x7.5" This will not only support your iMac, but impress clients. :)

Personally I would just build a simple wooden box of the same type of wood as the desk. Then stain it the same color and bolt it on. You could leave the side facing you open to slide the keyboard and mouse under it.

An amazon review of the UBoard says that with a 27" iMac the stand bowed in the middle and the reviewer decided it was unsafe.

Yeah the reviews didn't look promising after further review of it on amazon and other sites, but it is what I'm looking for just stronger. It looks like I found the words to search for which is basically "monitor stand".
