I want to go away for a Bachelors in Social Work which is very competitive so what can I volunteer for to help my application? I won't be applying for another 3 years.

- I am thinking maybe volunteer at a Family Support Worker place.

- Interm as an Addictions Counsellor. (Going away for Addictions Counselling first)

- Big Brother / Big Sister

My Marks in Highschool are not competitive enough for University so I can apply through Mature Status, but to increase my chances, I plan to get an Addictions Counselling Associates Degree with the highest marks that I can, volunteer, and work a year as an Addictions counsellor after school.

Find a cause that tugs on your heart strings and makes you want to affect positive change.

Connecting yourself to something that you personally deem a worthy cause will make your volunteering a very positive, possibly life-changing experience.

Volunteering for its own sake will do you no good.
