I need Windows XP help ASAP Please

Ok..so i was working on a major essay

i sent it to my self

and downloaded if off gmail and chose"open with ms word"

then i didnt relize..and i just pressed save..as i edited it

then i exicted ms word..and

then click the file on the right '

and it gave this error

and i have no idea where it is?
where are downloaded files saved on windows xp?

Probably not the easiest way

If you are unsure where files get downloaded, try downloading it (or another file) again and see where the default location is when IE7 or Firefox asks you where to save it. Wherever the save dialogue starts is probably where the document is.

Are you on a school network or something? It looks like the home directory is mapped to H:\

You may want to open My Computer and take a look at the H: drive for you document.

Well if you didn't mess around with Firefox then all downloads should go to the desktop. If you click on firefox on the left side of the screen then go to preferences. Then click the main tab and it should tell you were downloads go to.

Firefox downloads everything to the desktop.
