Hey people that are smarter than me...

I'm using Pro Tools LE on a macbook pro with an external hard drive and and mbox.

I've been using it for months now and have succesfully completed alot of sessions, then I just ran into several problems all at the same time. I figure they have to be related...

-Many sessions which previously worked fine wont even open now, dude to either "I/O error" or and error with "Midi Chunk List"

-In sessions that DO work, pro tools freezes up far more often, usually leading the rainbow wheel to spin until i have to "force quit" Its as if every now and then the session just comes across a peice of audio it doesnt like any more.

Could this just be a hard drive gone bad? Anything else that could be wrong? Any advise would be very much appriciated. Thanks!

Dan

have you upgraded your OS?

if not, head over to the DUC and look for the list of standard steps to take when such problems arise. oh, before that, i'd also repair permissions.
